We finally got the blood work back that tells us what we already know...
She has Trisomy 21 - the most common form of Down Syndrome
Also... barry sold my car yesterday (add that to the list of things going on right now!)
When Macy is well enough barry will fly to california to buy a van for us and drive it home, for now we are borrowing grandpa's truck, so we still have two vehicles!
Macy's bottle feedings are going really well,
*I think it is because my breast milk tastes SOOO good to her :)*
Now we just need to make sure she is pooping too, then she can come home and wait for surgery!

Hi! Just found your blog thru your comment on 'enjoying the small things'. We adopted a son this year with Down syndrome. The blogging world has been such a huge support and wealth of info for us. Just wanted to say hi and 'welcome to the club'! My favorite Ds quote: "We often think that having a child with T21 {Trisomy 21, aka Down syndrome} is like gaining membership to a secret club, a club you never knew you wanted to be in or even existed, but once you are in, you are so thankful that you were chosen." by Nicole Maher {a fellow blogger}
Hey Kathy! I haven't talked to you yet, but I'm following the updates and can't wait to meet Macy. Your love for her is making me love her before I know her! You express your feelings so beautifully and it helps people like me on the outside of 'the club' understand a tiny bit of it:) Love you, love your family!
Thanks for visiting my blog, it's nice to "meet" you! Congratulations on the birth of your beautiful Macy! I love the name by the way ;). She is SO cute and precious. I am sorry to see that she is having some medical challenges. That first few months can be tough getting all of the issues worked out and adjusting to the diagnosis of T21 but hopefully (very likely) soon you will just be living your life as normal. That is where we are 2 years later after our Macy had her open heart surgery, we got through it. Now she is a silly, sweet and smart 2 1/2 year old who fits into our family perfectly.
Your girl is a sure a beauty and she only get get more lovely. That is obvious because your other 2 kiddos are as well and she as their sibling will be a lot like them! I know your family will be fine, you already seem to have such a good outlook and attitude, I really admire that (as I had a really hard time accepting the DS for a while).
I look forward to following your family!
Oh, and I am a nurse to!
Hi there! I also found your blog through another blog connection. Congratulations! This "club" is amazing! I have three girls and a little boy, Justin, who is 21 months old and has Down syndrome. Macy is beautiful! I hope you don't mind me following this amazing journey!
