We had our Relief Society Retreat this past Friday Night. Can i just say... It was so needed!!! We stayed at a large cabin in Glenwood, Alberta. The theme was fill your bucket... one drop at a time. It was focused around how as women sometimes we do so much for others that we forget to give ourselves time. If we don't plan time aside for ourselves, than it becomes harder to give to those we love. What a great theme!!!
It began with a great ride down with my good friend Kira, who has been out of town and busy a lot so I haven't seen her much! We caught up on lots of current events and lots of funny stories from our teen years; ie first kisses, boyfriends and embarrassing moments! It was so good to have that time with her.
At the cabin we, well a few of us, stayed up till 4 am. No, it wasn't 5 am bishop Korella... promise, it was only 4 am! We played some fun games that included Becca B. snorting ALOT, Kelly S. dancing around like a ballerina (after much persuasion), and Kristen S. pretending to do a rap song in a jail cell without lips, her knees tied together, covered in maple syrup and feathers... Funny, but don't ask me... Play Quelf! We also played some other fun games and I have to mention that Becca and I won EVERY hand of rook!!! Yeah, that's right!!!
I also need to give props to Simone who stayed up with us even though she was running a 8 km race at 8 AM. That is amazing!
The next morning after a delicious breakfast a group of friends when for a walk around the VILLAGE (that's what it was called) of Glenwood. It was hot and great to get that southern Alberta fresh air! Plus the great conversation with Kira, Christy and Rachel is ALWAYS priceless! I love those girls so much :)
We spent the afternoon chatting, making journals, and just relaxing! Before leaving we enjoyed one of my favorite meals... Cafe Rio Salad! Nice pick Christy! I was so yummy :)
I CAN'T WAIT TILL NEXT YEAR!!! I think I started filling my bucket! :)
