27 Weeks!!!

Fun facts about 27 weeks...

*Baby now sleeps and wakes at regular intervals, and may suck a finger or thumb.

*Although they're still immature, your baby's lungs will function with some medical help, if it's born prematurely

*His brain waves are now firing away just like those of a newborn baby.

*If baby is a he, his testes will have completely descended at this point.

*Your baby now weighs in at approximately 14½ inches and just over 2 pounds

*If someone puts his or her ear up to your belly, over the fetal back, your baby's heartbeat will probably be distinguishable!

*around 27 weeks pregnant your baby's eyelids will open. Up until this point in time they were fused together. Around pregnancy week 27 and 28 they finally open. During this time the retina of the eye also starts maturing, allowing your baby's eyes to finally receive light and translate images.

*Some experts believe that the baby begins to dream by the 28th week.

Fun facts about me

*Weight gain is around 23 lbs.

*Up between 3-4 pant sizes :(

*7 weeks of work before mat leave! (which includes no work for the next two weeks :)

*First appointment with my actual OB next week.

*Placenta is along to front wall of my uterus

*Getting so excited to meet this active baby that rolls all over my belly all day!
