I hope this works!

I have decided that I can no longer clean up after everybody, myself. I am pretty sure that mom, does no equal MAID! I have been feeling like this lately. So, here is my solution. Or at least this will ease my burden a little!

I have made a chore chart for Tommy. Since I never need the same things done every day. I decided that #1 he has to clean his room and make his bed every day. I am willing to help him make his bed so he can get it straight. #2 For every extra chore he does on top of that, he gets a sticker on the chart! When he gets 10 stickers, he gets a small prize. I will have to make a rule about a big prize at some point. He seems excited about this!

I also made a homework chart. Tommy hates doing homework and always complains when that time comes. It's silly because he does quite well when he stops freaking out! So for every day that he does his homework with no frustration or complaint, he gets a sticker. He also gets a sticker when he moves up a level in his reading or when he masters a math skill. 10 stickers equals a small prize. Who else has tried this... does it work???

Thanks!

I am so thankful that it only took 15 min for the Tylenol to travel from her mouth to her stomach than to her liver where it transferred into the blood stream and from there traveled through the heart than up into her head where it stopped on her gums!!!
Because the SHRIEKING at the top of her lungs at 2 Am just was not working for me!

A Budget???

I have never before ran my finances on a Budget. I just buy what I want and try to watch it a bit. I am not much of an over spender really. I don't go to the mall very often, I don't buy new clothes very much, I rarely get my hair done, and I went for a massage for the first time in about 5 years. So, I thought I was doing good! But, I decided that it would be good to set up a budget so I know what exactly is coming in and going out! I downloaded a Microsoft template and started imputing numbers ( this is the first time I have actually looked at our bank account online! Pretty sad...but Barry always did that). I decided to give myself a specific amount of money per week for; groceries, home/baby needs etc. I take that amount of money out of the account on Monday and when it's gone it's gone! And I can only put gas in my car once every 1 1/2 - 2 weeks. I have also decided that we are cutting down the amount that we eat out!
It's been kind of bitter sweet to be honest. It sweet because I am more comfortable knowing about the finances and hopefully setting up a nice savings for us. But, it's bitter because, going to the grocery store is no longer fun for me! I catch myself wanting to stroll into the snack isle for the kids or wanting to get some new fun bath product. Than I have to tell myself, okay, but what will you do when the money is out? How will you feed your family! :) I am sure Barry would come to the rescue in that case, but... what would I be learning? So I have to be smarter! I will say though, that this week ( my first week) was a little rougher than average, since I was out of diapers, wipes and laundry detergent, so there was a good chunk of the money right there! As difficult as this is though... I think it's going to work out well.

If anyone has any money saving tips, let me know! BTW, thanks to Kira's mom about the post on laundry ( I love dryer sheets and fabric softener, and I load on the soap ) She said that dryer sheets and fabric softener break down the cotton in your clothes and that you only have to use 1/2 the suggested soap! It's makes sense... These companies want us to run out of our soap faster so we have to buy more... right! So, any more good money saving tips like that I would LOVE to hear!!!! Thanks. Happy Budgeting!

My mom calls this monopoly money! I think that is so funny!!!

I thought this was funny!

google.

I seriously thought this was really funny. Go to Google and do the following:

1. Follow the directions for each question
2. Answer with the first story that comes up.

Q: Type in "[your name] needs" in the Google search.
A: "Kathy needs to give herself some credit" <-- I think I give myself plenty!

Q: Type in "[your name] looks like" in Google search.
A: "Kathy looks like an incredibly gorgeous tripped out acid-house freak" <-- Wow, That is not how I look, is it?

Q: Type in "[your name] says" in Google search.
A: " Kathy says. “It gave me a lot of confidence." - The question is...what is IT?

Q: Type in "[your name] wants" in Google search.
A: "Kathy wants cake" - Funny, that one is true!

Q:Type in "[your name] does" in Google search.
A: "kathy does the GH spoilers." - Yeah, since I watch so many soaps!

Q: Type in "[your name] hates" in Google search.
A: "Kathy hates me more than Chloe the Evil Dog." <-- hmm... I wonder who chloe is?

Q: Type in "[your name] likes " in Google search.
A: "Kathy likes pink." - Okay, so I admit I like a little chick rock every once in a while!

Q: Type in "[your name] eats " in Google search.
A: "Kathy eats it!" <-- hehe so funny. I remember one time when I was trying to use gym equipment in a funny way and I ate it hard! Smacked my face on the floor! :)

Q: Type in "[your name] was arrested for" in Google Search.
A: " Kathy was arrested for Anti-war Activism."

Q: Type in "[your name] loves" in google search.
A: "Kathy love corn utopia." Umm, okay!

Funny to see what you find!!!!

Any ideas???

I have dicided that my child is a picky eater! I always give her a large variety of food options, but 75% of it ends up on the floor! Barry thinks maybe I should feed it to her instead of letting her eat it off her tray! I may give that a try, but... anyone have any ideas for food? I am running out. What do your kids like to eat? She has an appt with the pediatrician in a month and I don't want him to think I starve my daughter! Maybe she is just tired of what I offer her!

Kyla's New Hobby...

BUSTED!!!!

**TAKEN**

Lets start by saying, I really enjoyed watching this movie. I like movies about major world issues etc... But, It was so disturbing on so many levels! It is much like the movie, "The Missing." I saw that one about 5 years ago and after seeing it, I went straight to tommy's room (he was 2 at the time) and I picked him up and brought him to my bed! I wanted to keep him near me :) I feel very much the same with this movie. Its horrific what goes on in this world! What kind of people actually do this stuff? Seriously?

It's "cool" to be "good"

So any of you deal with this in your home too? My tommy is very in to whats "cool." So I am continually trying to inform him that being "good" is oh, so "cool!" There seems to be this misconception in life right now that it's "cool" to be self centered. It's "cool" to take all the credit for your good fortune in life, instead of giving that credit to God for the blessings he gives us. It's "cool" to do whatever you want... just because it's fun or feels good! It's sad really, isn't it! But... There are so many "cool" people we can look up to... because really... being good is what's really "cool."
On another note. Kyla's 1 yr appt was today...

and the doctor is baffled by her. Developementally she is on par, she looks healthy and acts healthy... but her weight is getting farther and farther from that normal curve at every visit! So... he is again sending her to a nutritionist and a pediatrician. I don't know how many more avacados, omega pro eggs, and salmon fillets I can feed her in a day! But... being safe is also "cool"... Right!!! :)

Thanks to Shannon!!!

Stole this from my friend Shannon's Blog (LOVE THE MOMENT) on my blog list.

One of the best quote I have ever read...

People are often unreasonable, illogical and self-centered; Forgive them anyway.
If you are Kind, People may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives; Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies; Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and frank, People may cheat you; Be honest and frank anyway.
What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight; Build anyway.
If you find serenity andhappiness, they may be jealous; Be happy anyway.
The good you do today, People will often forget tomorrow; Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough; Give the world the best you've got anyway.
You see, in the final analysis,it is between you and God; It is never between you and them anyway.

Seriously....

Need I say more...

Oh, the injustice!!!

What more could any 1 year old girl want for her birthday than...

4 metal cannula's jammed into her sweet tiny arms!!!

She is usually such a mild manored child... but she was not going down without a fight this time!! I have never seen her cry so hard... EVER! The nurse was actually quite good. I got a flu shot and for the first time ever...Didn't feel a thing. And I hate needles! I almost started crying when kyla was screaming except that she would look up at me and I could tell that she knew it wasn't me hurting her! SO SAD!!!

Here are her 1 yr old stats.

26 1/2 inches.
15 Lbs 13 oz.

Still off the charts for both... but, 25% for weight/height ratio...So, She is fine! The nurse agrees with me that she looks healthy :)
Last night for her birthday we sang Happy Birthday to her (which she Loved) and gave her a cupcake from Crave (which she didn't love). She enjoyed playing with it, but whenever she would get some in her mouth she would make this funny "sour" face and shake her head! I think it was too sweet for her :)

25 Things you may not know...

25 Random Things About Me
I haven't been tagged on Here, but about a million times on facebook. I work in 2 hours and am having a hard time forcing myself to take a quick nap. Barry is at City Basketball... so, I am going to waist some precious time! (and this time before my long night shift is PRECIOUS!!!)Enjoy

1. I was a HUGE nerd growing up! HUGE! I was the girl that followed to cool girls around...just wishing I could be them!!! I am so glad I don't want to be the cool girl anymore... So overrated!

2. Growing up I would always ask my mom to fill my Christmas Stocking with Pickles, Pepperccinis and Jalapenos. No candy for me!

3. My mom's original due date to have me was DEC 25th!!! I didn't come until Jan 27th! I beat to my own drum I guess :)

4. I used to pride myself on being a fence-sitter mormon... but I am PROUD to say, I am inching my way toward what some would call... a molly mormon! and I am not ashamed :)

5. I love my two sisters and one brother so much and worry about them ALL the time!!! I think I understand them in ways that no one does!

6. I started biting my nails when I was very young and could never stop (I would bite the fake nails off that my mom would put on and bite through the nasty nail biting medicine). When Barry and I started dating he said, "That is really gross!" I stopped cold turkey and don't do it anymore! NOW THATS LOVE!
7. I grew up dancing ALL THE TIME! I danced at a private studio Hot Shots, was on the High School Drill Team and on the High School Modern Dance Team. I have done lots of teaching. I taught ballet to a group of Elite Gymnasts in Texas for a while. Many of them moved onto the College Gymnastics teams at UCLA and Texas Womens University. I MISS DANCING ALL THE TIME!

8. I am a bit of a dare devil! I want to do lots of crazy/exciting things. But Barry wont let me because he says he doesn't want me to die! hahaha

9. My mom is one of those SUPER fun moms who is always up for a game or just going out for ice cream! She really knows how to sacrifice for her kids.
10. My husband and I have such a fun relationship. Often times we'll just lay in bed and listen to fun music or on a rare occasion I can get him to get up and dirty dance with me a little!! NOT VERY OFTEN!! We have a lot of fun together!

11. My husband and my kids are my world!!! I will do anything to secure our spot in heaven TOGETHER!

12. I have some of the BEST FRIENDS in the world! I never knew how many amazing people lived up in this winter tundra :)

13. I have 27 neices and nephews. The oldest is getting married this summer and the youngest was born a week ago!!! How fun is that!

14. Some of my favorite childhood memories are of sitting with my dad watching westerns. haha. He would lay on his back on the floor with his legs crossed and his hands behind his head holding it up in a crunch position! It still makes me laugh. I just love him so much. I didn't even like westerns, but liked being with my dad!

15. I love anatomy. Dissecting creatures is so up my alley! For fun sometimes I look at anatomy books and refresh my memory about the functions of the human body!

16. I have recently become addicted to Yoga! I love it, I love my teacher and I love the way it makes me feel! Just trying to breath and relax into an intense pretzel position, while being in agonizing pain!! Looks like fun right!

17. If I were living in the states... Barry and I would apply for The Amazing Race - AND WIN!!! haha

18. I am the hugest procrastinator!!! But that will change... Dr. Oz says that is the first thing that will take years off your life!!! YIKES!

19. My husband eat, sleeps and breaths his job. He works intensely long hours, but... when I see him talk about something new going on with the Golf Courses, The twinkle in his eye is PRICELESS!

20. I feel like I have the best in-laws that life can offer! My mother in law has changed me so much and made me realize what the truly important things are in this life!!!

21. My canada sister and brother in laws are among the best people I have ever met! Seriously! Brian is such an example to barry and Pam, sheri and Jan are the best moms out there. Plus ALL of them have amazing testimonies of the gospel :) and I can truly say they are my FRIENDS.

22. Barry and I want 6 kids. Many people think we are crazy, but I like having lots of people around me and there is nothing more joyful than kids.

23. I turned 28 this year and am actually looking forward to getting older. With age come experience, confidence, so on and so on... Bring on the 80's... I'm ready!

24. Before I got married and had a family I wished I could go to Africa and help make a difference! Now I try in other ways.

25. My "worldy" goal is to one day go on a world cruise with Barry. 120 days at sea, circling the globe! My in-laws did it and loved it!!! Now I'm next :) Better start saving now!!!

THE END... for today :)

To make my day EXCITING!!!

This is what you do when you need a daily pick-me-up!!! Poor Girl :)

It looked even funnier when i took them out!
Found this on Facebook... and since I am such a nerd, I thought I would do it!!!
