I don't know if I should cry, vomit, or pull the covers over my head... Instead I am going to PRAY PRAY PRAY!!! I predicted this outcome, but it's really hard to swallow!!! This is not a shock...Hollywood has driven this election! All those who don't know a thing about politics vote for who they think is
COOL! It's a sad thing! We've just voted for a wolf in sheeps clothing... I hope we are ready! I need to step back for a minute and...breath!! I love my country and will be praying that all goes well :)
I guess I will go ahead a post the pic of the election cupcakes that I made from SCRATCH tonight with the help of my beautiful son Tommy. Notice there is more red sprinkles than blue dots!!!
We love you McCain!!!
I think I'll go eat the whole plate now. That will make me feel better!!!

Your cupcakes are so cute!! Were they yummy?
Funny, I had the complete opposite reaction to last night's news. The last eight years of a Republican government haven't been scary enough for you? :)
I don't think Hollywood has driven this election - I think John McCain did a pretty good job, all things considered. He certainly had his work cut out for him with all the damage Bush did. I wouldn't have voted for Obama because I think he's cool - I would have voted for him because I think he is going to be an amazing president. Just curious, not trying to pick a fight, but why are you so violently opposed to him?
Sorry you were so disappointed - although I liked the results, I felt so bad for all the heartbroken people on the other side, especially McCain!
I ate my whole plate, and it helped me! Call me, I have good news in spite of everything!
Ditto to everything Jamie said!
I also think he is super negative!! I am not very political and think that neither candidate would stick to their "plan" but, I believed in McCain more. I think he was being honest and not just saying what might be POPULAR in the world today. I just wish we could get back to our roots!! But, we all know the world is supposed to get worse before it gets better :) Buckle up and enjoy the ride!!!
Oh, and by the way... Thanks for your honosty everyone! I still super love you all. I think a good debate is fun and gets you thinking!!
Well i didn't vote for Obama because i think he is cool. I voted for him because he is awesome! lol I am reading "The Audacity of Hope" and have found that alot of his ideals and values are the same as my own. the GOP have lost there compashion for the working class. What happens in the US effects the whole world and now that the demacratic party have taken control of all three branches of the government we can get back on track.

I read your blog and I have to ask.....I am confused by your disappointment and harsh judgement of the people who have put their hope and votes in Obama. Tell me what you know about politics because I have not ever heard you talk about policy. I am not trying to upset you, but I think you should go online and watch his acceptance speach, this really is a historical moment for America, and when people who say they arn't very political and can't give a good reason for not liking a candidate,it makes me wonder what the real reason is, please tell me. I am not trying to pick a fight or be rude, but I really would like to hear what you are so opposed or scared of? I am not a part of Hollywood and I do not vote for people I just think are cool, why would I even bother to stand in line when I am 7 months pregnant and completely uncomfortable? It is because of facts and policies much deeper that that superficial crap. I am sorry, i hope you will not hate me for saying these things, but some of the things you imply are very insulting to me. I and apparently the majority of the U.S. voted for Obama because he gives us hope to heal our nation and unite, based on real policies and not hollywood trends.
I apologize if I offended anyone. Especially one of my family members ( Jamesib, ruthkeller, pam etc...) that is not what I was meaning to do. I am not saying that EVERY vote was because of hollywood. I know there are people out there that really study these issues and care! ie; my brother mark! I respect how people vote when informed!! Everyone is entitled to their opinion! But no one can deny the amount of "go obama" talk on TV this year. Even here in canada this morning we were talking about it before my yoga class and people make Republicans feel ashamed to admit it. Thats NOT right! I like to here others ideas and think that I should be able to voice mine as well and still be treated respectfully! There were some of Obama's policies that I didn't believe in and that is my right. ie; His robinhood theory, and his idea of how to end the war etc... Just like it is your right to believe how you want and I am fine with that. Still love you, still respect you! I also think that having the first female president or the first black president should not be important in a decision... I think we need to look past race, sex, religion etc and see what people stand for. I hope most people did just that! In all honosty, I wrote this post just minutes after the results on TV and was a little frustrated. But I too realize that things need to change, but I just hope they are changed for the better!!! I am happy for all you that were praying for obama to win and I hope he does make change for the better! but FYI james and ruth... I think I am being more accepting of you than you are of me! Makes me sad!!!!!! Love you guys. tell mark I love him too!!! ALOT
and hey family, I never knew you all read my blog... why did it take this post for you to care???
Hey babe, I love you too. I have friends that are Mccain fans and I respect their ideas and I respect your as well. I think the Hollywood comment was shocking, but it's your opionion. You know how political our family is, debating is a family actitity. I LOVE YOU, no hard feeling. XOXOXOXO
Kathy,
You are perfectly entitled to your opinion, that is what America is all about, everyone having equal rights without discrimination. I just felt your words were harsh and very strong, but I am notjudging you because you have a different opinion than mine. We want nothing but happiness for you and your family. I do have to say one thing though, I do read your blog and do care, actually I have sent you several emails and don't get responses but I just found out that you don't check it often so that is my bad. I always ask Mark why his family never calls to say hi or to ask me how I am doing because sometimes I think they don't really care what happens w/me or Sophia and he says that is just how they are and that it doesn't mean that they don't care. So maybe that applies to you too? I don't know.. But we definately love you and no hard feelings intended.
I feel one thing should be clarified, James nor I are attacking you for liking McCain, or having a difference in opinion. What we have said is a reaction to your comments implying that anyone who would vote for Obama are uneducated, I repeat not because your vote would be for McCain. Please do not be sad. I really feel bad and apologize if I made you feel that bad. I am married to Mark after all, and we all know he will fight and debate with a vengence and then be completely calm and have no ill feelings. So again I am sorry.
Those cupcakes look spankin awesome! I voted Obama so I had a great reaction to the news :). Its american to hate the opposing side. I thought McCain was the devil HA! I do have to disagree that it was hollywood driven however. I think america was tainted by the 8 years of republican power that has almost ruined our economy. I'm a democrat, but even if I wasn't I would have voted Obama. I need a change ;)
Hey Kathy its me again your gay uncle. j/k this is only the second time i have commented on your web page because untell two days ago i didn't know you had one. i hope you and your family are doing well. I also enjoy a good political debate, just as long as its about the issues and not about feelings or fear of change. i know what you mean when you say that a majority can make you feel ashamed of what you believe. being a Obama supporter in the reddest county (Utah Valley) in the reddest state (Utah) can get you frustrated. This election has left a lot of us feeling thin skinned. i think we would be living in a better world right now if McCain had beat Bush in the 2002 GOP primaries. you are right, it shouldn't be about race or sex when you vote, but it should be important that you are young enough to live out your presidency. i believe that Sarah Palin was used as a gimmick to win over voters that only care about two issues, making abortion illegal and teaching creation in our schools. she wouldn't be the right person to lead us out of this crisses. but hay thats my opinon and this is your blog. so blog on bloger! lol
