OoOo Blinded by the White oOoO

We got our first snow of the year (that stayed on the ground) today. I think Utah even beat us, I know that makes my mom "OH SO HAPPY!" She hates snow! I actually like it, but it takes effort... let me explain! In the spring, summer or fall... the warmth, colors and sounds of people out and about make you feel so alive! You can get this same thing during the winter, but you have to try harder!!! The snow can be so gloomy sometimes... but if we look at it in a refreshing and clean way, it can be nice! Plus christmas is always better white! As a kid, I didn't care if I couldn't ride my new bike on christmas... I wanted snow and lots of it! But snow was different in utah than it is here in calgary. I remembering going on night walks when there was snow on the ground in utah but it was still warm enough for just a jacket! I miss that kind of winter!!! Some days in calgary all I do in the snow is run through it at lightning speed to get into my warm car! Thanks to those wonderful Chinooks we have... We get lots of breaks from that cold! I also think that if its gonna snow, than it might as well come down in dump truck loads!!! Large drifts of sparkly snow is much better than below freezing temps with a centimeter of snow dust.... That is no fun at all!!! Maybe we'll get lucky and experience a mild temp winter with lots of powdery snow to play in!!! Not likely, but we can hope!!!!

We got snow today too, not the first of the season, but the first to stick. I wish it would only snow on days I could stay at home in my PJ's and sip on hot cider.

We got snow yesterday and I wanted to cry. Summer just wasn't long enough.
