1. What did you do in 2008 that you'd never done before? Had a baby girl born VBAC
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year? I actually don't remember what my New Years Resolution was last year... thats pretty bad!
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?My sister-n-law Jan had a baby girl, Barry's Cousin Lynette had a baby boy, Barry's Cousin Holly had a baby girl, Barry's cousin Julie had a baby girl, barry's cousin Nikki had triplets (two boys, one girl), and Barry's Good Friend Bryce had twins(one boy, one girl)
4. Did anyone close to you die?NO, and isn't that a blessing!!!
5. What countries did you visit?Canada, US.
6. What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008?More time with my husband, he works so much.
7. What date from 2008 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? Feb 5th. Barry never thought he would be able to watch me deliver a baby. He was such a champ...doting over me all night making sure I was okay and worrying about the baby. Everytime her heartbeat went down on the monitor...he would wake me, turn me over and grab the nurse! He really loves his girls! He stood at me feet and actually watched the whole thing...he only had to leave the room once to get some air! He was white as a ghost. I am so glad he stuck it through though.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? I would say, getting comfortable as a stay-at-home mom. I worked and went to school for so many years when tommy was little, that at first I felt like I was waisting my day when I was just home. But this year I have really learn to love it and have started some new hobbies. Photography, Scrapbooking, Cooking and just loving playing with my two angels!
9. What was your biggest failure? I don't think I had any big failures...everyday we all have little ones, but thats a part of the process!
10. Did you suffer illness or injury? Just a small one in my ankle from working out too hard. It only took a few weeks to heal.
11. What was the best thing you bought? Well, I didn't buy it, but barry did. It's a handpainted oil painting on canvas of our little family. He had it done by a woman in China. We are getting it framed now. I will post pics once its up!
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?Two... My husband has been working tirelessly to get a new golf course going and they got it. We will start construction soon on our newest course "a Johnny Miller Signature Design." Due to this, our family has been able to spend some time with Johnny and his son Scott. The second person is Tommy. He is doing so well at school. Learning to read and is really good at math. His teacher told me at conference that he is the only one in his class who aologizes when he needs to and always says thank you! I just love these two boys like crazy!
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and/or depressed? I try not to get depressed, but I do get upset when I am not getting along well with friends or family! That doesn't happen much though!
14. Where did most of your money go? GAS!!! the prices this summer were CRAZY! I am so glad they are back to normal. $6.00 a gallon was a little much!
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?Our vacation in march and our end of year trip to cali. Who doesn't like a vacation? More time with hubby and kids!
16. What song will always remind you of 2008? Well, a few. Barry and I want to start a tradition of making a Barry/Kathy CD every year to document our favorite songs of 2008. They can be old or new songs, Just sons we enjoyed this year. A few of them are...Beautiful U R, Over it, and the one that makes barry's list every year is "I belong to you - lenny kravitz".
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:i. happier or sadder? thinner or fatter? Happier, with every year I get happier. Also I was pregnant this time last year...so I am definently thinner!
18. What do you wish you'd done more of? Study my Scriptures and playing with the kids. You can never get enough of either of those!
19. What do you wish you'd done less of? Waisting time! I am really good at that! I need time management help!
20. How will you be spending New Years? Spent it in Palm Springs, with barry, kyla and good friends Scott and Nikki.
22. Did you fall in love in 2008? For sure... Barry and I have this little disagreement. I say, "I am IN LOVE with my kids." He says that I love them but I am not in love with them. I am stick to my guns! I feel in love with a baby girl this year!
23. How many one-night stands?Seriously? That is just revolting!
24.What was your favorite TV program? The Hills... it is me and barry's guilty pleasure! But i also love all reality shows and watched all the season of lost this year, so looking forward to that starting!
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?I don't like to waist my time thinking out hating people! What's the point?
26. What was the best book you read? Well I read the twilight series and it was okay. I also read Joseph and Emma - a love story and I really liked that. I am currently reading, "I am a mother" and it is brain candy!!! I love it!
27. What was your greatest musical discovery? I can't limit it to one!
28. What did you want and get?A tripod for my camera! and photoshop elements 7.0!
29. What did you want and not get? A dutch oven, and a flash for my camera.
30. What was your favourite film of this year? Well, actually the other night Barry and I went to "Gran Torino" and it was very moving! I also LOVED "the secret life of bee's" I read the book a number of years ago. The moving was just as good.
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?I turned 27 and went to dinner with my family!
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying. lots of little things... goin to the temple more or being sealed to tommy would have been very satisfying!
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2008? Depends on the day... but as I lost the baby weight, I started dressing up more!
34. What kept you sane? My Friends and my Kids!
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? Actually... Spencer Pratt, we just love to hate him! Everything that comes out of that guys mouth is so over the top appalling that it has become hilarious!
36. What political issue stirred you the most? I am not very political, but Prop 8 was interesting!37. Who did you miss? My family in utah... I don't see them nearly enough!
38. Who was the best new person you met? This is easy. Kira! I have a few girls I would say are my best friends...but I met the others last year. I only met kira about 6 months ago... and it's like having another sister!!
39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2008. The church is true, keep the commandments and follow the prophet. Everything else is just fluff!
