I teach my sons class in primary and one of the boys in his class informed me last sunday that he knows the first 6 articles of faith. Impressive! So, I decided Tommy should be able to learn them too.

This morning I was driving him to school because I was volunteering in his class. On the way I started teaching him the first article of faith. I made him repeat after me.
Me: Tommy, almost all of them begin with "We Believe," that makes it easy. So here we go.
Me: We believe in God the eternal father
Tommy: We believe in "the God of the internal father"
Me: No, the eternal
Tommy: That's what I said, "the" internal.
Me: Eternal, like eternity. Not internal
Tommy: Eternal
Me: *Repeat first part* , and in his son Jesus Christ and in the Holy Ghost.
Tommy: *We believe in the God the "internal" father, and in his son Jesus Christ and in the Holy Ghost.
Me: *after a few more tries* Okay, we'll work on it, but good job! Can you tell me what that means? Who are we saying we believe in?
Tommy: Um, the Holy Ghost, Heavenly Father, and... Baby Jesus!
Me: *Burst out laughing, followed by Tommy laughing too* Good Tommy, yeah Jesus Christ which is the same as baby Jesus.
(My thinking at the time... Okay it is Christmas... We're thinking baby Jesus right now, also thinking... Talladega Nights movie - Dear Baby Jesus...)
It was so cute and funny at the same time :)
